New Group....The Traveling Baby

I joined a new group that works together to create and sculpt a baby, then send it to the next member to work on it...maybe put together the baby, paint baby, and put hair on the baby. Then on to the next member who might gloss where needed, dressed and clothe the baby. Then to member number four who might make blankets, hats, socks, and shoes. The fifth member might make toys and any accessories needed to help this baby look his best and take completed baby photos. At this time the baby goes back to it original creator/owner and she will have a beautiful baby that has traveled through many states and hands. The owner is supposed to tell a story about their baby. This time the babies traveled to 5 homes...another time they may travel to more...it depends on how many people sign up to be in the travel. My baby turned out to be a newborn baby elf. Here are some beginning pictures of her (I had started putting on her body when everyone decided that it would be easier to paint the babies if they were not put together...so I stopped after I had connected her legs) and you can read about her journey at the blog link:
I was hoping she was a newborn baby girl elf , so I decide to put her hair on and see it she looked like a girl or a boy. I really think she looks like a girl, so I named her Bliss after the village park I found her in....Blissfield Town Park.

A New Portrait Baby Girl Jewel Lee

I have just finished a new Portrait Baby. It is a copy of my daughter Jewel's hospital picture. It is my fourth Portrait Baby. It took me quite a long time to make her but she is finally done. She was a beautiful baby with a perfect shaped head and lots of dark brown hair. She is an OOAK (One Of A Kind ) Baby...no molds are used in making any of my creations. She is made of Professional ProSculpt Clay with tiny tools, my mind, hands, and patients. I use memories or photos for ideas and lots of time and love. She has a handmade soft doeskin body that is filled with steel shot and some soft fluffy filling that makes her very poseable. Her head turns from side to side and her limbs are jointed. She is baked to perfection and painted with a special Genesis Heat paint to give her the infant skin color and blushing. Her lips, toes, and fingers are glossed. Her outfit is hand knitted especially for her by a lady in England and her afghan is handmade by a lady in California. she feels wonderfully weighted when you cuddle her in your hands.

The Girl babies

I was invited to put my sculpted babies in the biggest doll show in Michigan. It was the Madison Heights Doll Show. I went with my granddaughter Tiffany who also sculpts with me. We had a good time. We both took examples of our work and we both sold pieces. The managers of show said that they had never seen OOAK sculpted babies so they were excited to have us in the show. We got many good comments and people said they hoped we would come back to the show in the fall. I got to meet Dorothy Steven who is a wonderful sculptor from Canada and I enjoyed talking to her. Here are our picture of the show.
