We Have Been Without Electricity For Three And One Half Days

These are some pictures of the six dogs that stayed at our house during the snow storm and power outage.  The first one is Travis' dog Lovey...she is supposed to be a beagle...does she look like a beagle to you?
This is my daughter Jewel on the left holding her family's Chihuahuas named Snapdragon and Cookie.  My granddaughter Tiffany is holding my other daughter Kelly's three Chihuahuas named Violet, Rosebud and Sweet Pea.  Aren't these Chihuahuas tiny? I think the biggest one only weighs a little over 5 lbs.  They got along pretty well for two males and four females....and one of the females was going into heat.

I tried to take pictures of the family members that stayed at our house and everyone complained and didn't want me to.  So I didn't get any pictures of them.

These are pictures of our  house

after the the snow storm and before the ice storm.

Some pictures in our neighborhood after the ice storm....Look how think the ice is on these branches.

Boy is it nice to have our power back.  Everyone one is cold and night time comes very early, especially with Daylight Savings.  Then at night I can't sleep.  All I can do is think about things I need to do and can't do....and of course worry and try to figure out how to fix things.  We have lots of teens and of course they are always hungry.  We did go to the next town about 20 miles away and ate at Golden Corral....warm food....yeah!  The kids have not had school since last Friday.  So my teacher daughter is happy along with the kids.  My nurse daughter and college student granddaughter are not happy...Tiffany's college closed for one day and the hospitals are overflowing.  My granddaughter who works at Big Lots and Carlton Inn, had to go to work and both places were full and busy.  We were lucky, we could kind of use our cell phones (had to drive around in the car to charge them), we have a gas fireplace, and we had hot water.  We had oil lamps and 6 LEED Lanterns that we could carry from room to room. We all slept downstairs...boy was that crowded.   Lots of other people did not have it that good.  Lots of people in our neighborhood went to stay with relative who had power.  One of our neighbors said that they left a half cup of coffee in their kitchen and in the morning it was frozen...WOW!  We have a full house. We have my daughters' six dogs...and the all their children...Wheee   Even though we have our power back on the girls' houses are on the other side of town and they don't have electricity yet....maybe won't until Saturday.
Here we have some pictures my granddaughter took of our evenings without electricity...using the fireplace for heat, oil lamps for some light, book lights to read at night and all sleeping in the family room.

I hope it has warmed up soon and everyone has power again! What a massive storm...and a terrible winter! You'll be happy to know that the little dollie is in the lanai soaking up some Florida sunshine! Oh, she is precious and I love her! Thank you SO much! You've made my day! ♥♥♥

I'm so happy for her....I do wish I were in the warm south too, however I am not and today is quite a bit warmer than it has been...there is still snow on the ground, but lots of sunshine.
