Sculpting Dolls and Things

Two years ago I noticed the OOAK Babies on eBay and fell in love with them. At first my daughter, Kelly, bought the clay and tools and started trying to make them. She wanted me to do it with her. I didn't think I could make them, but decided I would give it a try. We sat down in the living room in front of the TV one evening and started working on one each. I had purchased a little folder book called Tiny Babies, How to created tiny babies using polymer clay by Barbara Felts. We had ordered the book, clay, and tools from eBay as part of our Christmas presents to each other. It was New Years Eve so we wanted to be near the TV. We set up our work on large TV trays and jumped into following each step in the book. I started working with Professional Pro Sculpt clay. We spent most of the night working on our new babies. Later on I got more tools and my husband bought me a big lamp that swivels with a magnifying light. We, and especially me, have spent many days working on making dolls, fairies, elves, babies, animals, and interesting creatures. I am retired but Kelly is a second grade teacher, so she does not have much time to sculpt in the winter...most of her sculpting is done in the summer, when she is not teaching.
